How Rebalance Supports Founders Who Don’t Make It Into The Accelerator Program— Announcing Mentor Hours

Accelerators often filter startups based on pre-decided selection criteria or sector focus and are usually limited by batch bandwidth for justified reasons. In that process, some founders make it and some don’t, for several reasons ranging from idea/product to their funding/traction stage.

We want to change that.

We believe no founder should be denied access to growth

Founders should not be limited by our batch bandwidth or their startup stage when they reach out to us. A little guidance and support in the right direction can lead to phenomenal progress over time.

Announcing Mentor Hours — a unique initiative that supports and shapes founders who are not ready for the accelerator program, through an open mentorship format.

How does it work

High potential startups from the applicant pool that could not make it to our accelerator batch are further evaluated. We look for founders who are just in need of a nudge to get to the next level.

Mentor Hours functions as a 10-week need-based mentorship program that begins one week after the Rebalance Accelerator program.

Every startup has its own challenges so Mentor Hours is a semi-structured format that simply gives founders the opportunity to ask any questions that they might have.

We invite founders to engage with our mentors twice a month for 2 months. We kick off the program with an orientation day that allows founders to set their 10-week goal metrics with the mentor that best provides the kind of help they’re seeking.

During the program, founders get access to all our ecosystem partner perks along with access to our community of mentors and experts. At the end of the program, each founder’s progress is evaluated.

Access To Investor Hours

During the last week of the program, founders get an opportunity to engage with investors who are members of the Rebalance community and external investors who are attending the event. The agenda isn’t to pitch but to engage and strike a meaningful conversation or to seek guidance.

Opportunity To Get Direct Access To Rebalance Pitch Week

On the basis of how much ground a founder has been able to cover, founders that seem ready to engage with investors, get direct access to Rebalance Pitch Week in the subsequent batch. However, founders that have shaped their solution enough to re-apply but need a little more guidance before approaching investors, get assisted with re-applying to the next batch of Rebalance accelerator program.

Mentor Hours Will Be Available Pan India And Globally As We Grow

Our inaugural accelerator batch is taking place in Delhi NCR but we’re extending Mentor Hours to applicants from Bangalore. We will be offering Mentor Hours in Mumbai from our second batch in 2019–20 since we’re still setting up a mentor panel there.

How We Choose The City We Host Mentor Hours In (Per Batch)

The number of applications per city drives the availability of Mentor Hours in that city. Basically, when we evaluate startups for Mentor Hours Program from our remaining applicant pool — we choose the city that hosts the majority of founders shortlisted for Mentor Hours.

If you’re a diverse team with at least one woman as a founder and are looking to grow your startup to the next level. We’ve got you!

Apply Here — Applications close on 20th April 2019.
